Excuse me . . . there must be a mistake; I asked for NHL 07.

NHL 07 current-gen, or NHL 06.1 is an overpriced NHL 06 expansion pack. The game isn't worth more than a Hamilton (U.S. ten-dollar bill).

Pros:

- Moderately improved defense and goalie A.I. (The goalies do not flop around like fish out of water as they did in NHL 06 and defense is a tad more aggressive.)

- Player Types (A Grinder will finish his checks, and it shows.)

Cons:

- Underwhelming innovation (Excuse me . . . there must be a mistake; I asked for NHL 07.)

- The passing Skill Stick Revolution (It's nothing more than a gimmicky feature which maps passing to the right thumbstick.)

- Control design changes for the worst. (Whomever's idea it was to map a slap-shot to the right trigger, please pickup your paycheck on the way out.)

- Czech Elite League (Why don't they just throw in a peewee hockey league, too.)

- GM Trust Points (NHL 07's money substitute for points to purchase Team Upgrades.)

- Terrible user interface (The worst U.I. I've ever seen.)

- Terrible presentation (A carbon copy of NHL 06's presentation with a few new cut-scenes.

If you've played NHL 06 and said to yourself, "I love this game, but the goalie and defense A.I.'s atrocious;" than NHL 07 current-gen's your game. However, if you're somebody like me who's seen and done it all or were expecting NHL 07 current-gen to be half a new game or more; NHL 07's a huge disappointment. But, if you haven't played NHL 06 and enjoy EA NHL hockey; NHL 07 current-gen is a must-buy.
