The NHL series has always remained at a steady rate of being good hockey games for NHL fans. NHL 08 continues that rate and is the best in that series. The game is improved in online and AI. Visually, the game looks great. Player faces generally look good, but their bodies really show off the detail that the developers put in. The arenas look good and have lots of details. The audio is just as good. Commentary is sometimes repeated, though I can easily forgive that. In the game, when players slam into each other or one hits the puck across the ice, the sound is all great. The controls are as smooth as ever, making the experience all the better. The AI players are tremendously improved over NHL 08's predecessors, making it a lot more challenging to score a goal. The online options are better as well. There is the 1-on-1 match that you'll be able to do, but then there's a match called "Team Play," meaning you play with a few other players that face each other. Those improvements make NHL 08 the best in its series and recommendable to any fan of hockey.
