That game above that I aforementioned was fun, fun, fun, (Also NHL Face-off 99 was in concideration for awesomeness at the same time that NHL 99 shipped out as well.) HOWEVER... NHL has been worth the hype for years ever since the debut of the series on the Playstation 3, for good reason, the graphics, smooth gameplay, & just-right difficulties set this game apart from other sports titles that I've played in the recent sports years. For rookie, to novice players of video game hockey I urge you to recommend, that you start the level of difficulty on the beginner mode, AND take advantage of the practice modes, (Rush, video-tutorial, etc.) to get a feeling for the competition ahead. Then use the skills that you've honed on the ice in exciting & eye-popping gameplay. Then when you think in your gut that you're ready to challenge yourself to the next level move the difficulty up to the next stage. You should be positively sure of yourself before you do this, after, say whoopin' the opposing CPU. by like 5 goals average. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, is key, ESPECIALLY FACE-OFFS, BECAUSE THEY ARE CRUCIAL TO THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW HOCKEY. Beware of it... (heh-heh) In all good-ness I STRONGLY recommending trying this game out first THEN buying it, or just simply purchase it completely, you sure as heck won't be disappointed at all.
