I have been a long time fan of the NHL series but not anymore. This game is truely incredible. The physics in the game are so realistic it puts NHL 2003 to shame. Sure NHL 2003 does have better graphics but 2K3 aren't bad. The gameplay is so realistic, and the sound is amazing. You can do board pins, grab the puck out of the air, and you can actually grab rebounds and shoot them in. (thats one thing that pissed me off about the NHL series, your player would run over the puck and not grab it) The only thing thats lame compared to NHL2003 are the fights. Sure its a minor thing but the fights are dumb. Also penalties are called a lot so you have to turn that option way down. I love the ESPN aspect of the game, it really adds to it. Also the music isn't annoying (like Madden) but I wish they would have made it so that you could play your own custom tracks. Whats also cool about the game is you have the ability to colide with refs and other members of your team, this makes the game way more realistic. (Though one time it made me angry because i collided into a fellow team mate and my guy ended up breaking his leg.) Another feature that kicks some major booty is the online gameplay factor. If you have XBOX live it just adds more to a great game. They have a set up that keeps tracks of all your wins, losses, ties, and drops. Plus you can have up to 3 guests!!! What more could you ask for. I just love this game and sure it does suffer a little in some areas, but those are minor considering how great this game is. Good bye NHL series.
