After playing the game I can now say that I have not idea what those who poorly reviewed the game were thinking. The new Pro Control and other features absolutely moved the gameplay into a new great direction for Hockey. Its about time they got Pro Control in the game. Similar controls were in the 2K5 Hoops and NBA series, which I loved to use. Now it makes passing so much easier, better to control. At least for me, passing was one of my weak points in NHL 2K5. Also, those of you who love 2K5 will find that you may need to adjust your style of play a bit. There are some new moves that you can perform better than before and you will need to learn to defend those as well, like the wrap around goal from behind the net. The new play calling feature was also a must that has finally been added to 2K6. Allowing you to command your palyers to collaspe to the goal or release out for example. On offense you can have them crash the goal, etc. And who's complaining about the presentation? Its great! And the stat overlays are very nice and have new intersting stats like a shot and percentage chart showing what areas you have shot from druing the game and from where you've scored your goals so that you can adjust during the game.
