I'm going to make this short and sweet. Everything about it is great...the game play dynamics, the commentary (though a little mechanical), the options, the stats...everything, EXCEPT the goaltending. Was it just me, or no matter how the difficulty and goalie attributes are stacked, and no matter how pitiful you set the offense abilities, just about everything goes in. After a few games I was scoring ALL the time from everywhere. I am so disappointed. I just couldn't play it anymore. I heard heathens actually exclaiming that EA was better this year, and I silently cursed them at first, but now, I grudgingly agree. Keep in mind this is coming from a Canadian hockey lunatic, I live, breathe, and eat the stuff, believe me. I'm not into the arcade style of hockey games, in fact, I almost hate them. 2K6 was almost perfect, except for the crappy goaltenders. If 2K5 didn't have some stupid bug where my franchise mode would randomly cancel itself (it's true, from time to time my franchise would just stop working, I even brought the game back twice) I would stick with it instead. I've been forced to go over to EA, and I hope it's only for this year.
