As with all sports games the heart of the game is where the game is played and in this case is on the ice. The controls are nothing revolutionary but they are very responsive. The biggest in game feature is the new goalie control, which allows you to take control of your goalie and make saves of your own. The problem with this is that you really never end up using it and you find that when the AI has control of your goalie, it does better than you could unless you have practiced for a significant time. Off the ice, nothing noticeable has been changed. It has every thing you would expect from any sports game like create a player or a franchise mode. In conclusion, this is a good game, but if you have nhl 2K5 there really is not anything that would make this years worth buying
