Good as a novelty hockey game as far as the hitz go.
Though the game title reads "HITZ", the hockey gameplay can tend to be fairly unrealistic. Many options are given to change the gameplay setting though, including difficulty levels, A.I intelligence and animation ofteness (ie: how often the com will stick check), golie skill level etc.
Graphics are impressive in this game, all character models are well done and animations are smooth flowing to the smallest detail.
The sound of the audience and the commentators fits perfectly into the rest of the puzzle. The crowd and commentator volumes can be set, for me, both are full blast. When you hit a player to their ass or though the glass they roar and cheer when you're on home ice, if you're on away ice you get booed out of the building. The commentators can tend to say the wrong things at the wrong times occasionally, for example: The golie will catch a shot that was clearly giong wide of the net and the commentators will say "this is a goal! i mean, this is, this is robbery! just plain robbery!". This happens fairly often with a number of different events during gameplay but it isn't enough to degrade the game or anything drastic like that.
If you want a slow gameplay where you really have to think in order to make plays possible, you can choose for a slower game speed, meaning the players won't be able to skate as fast and the turbo option will not be available during gameplay, and if you want a fast heart racing superman gameplay, you can set the game speed to a faster pace, and the players will skate much faster, and the turbo option will be readily available to you during gameplay.
Very fun, very addictive, I would recommend this game to any hockey fan who really wants to rule on the boards and the scoreboard.
