Now beginning the game, I thought to myself, eh the graphics aren't that good. The opening sequence of the young female protagonist berating a book also slowed my enthusiasm. However my worries were washed away within the opening credits. A breath taking score, truly one to rival any of the Final Fantasy series, set the tone. I was enthralled. The story, the characters all beautiful yet sad. The length of time taken to reach these story points was quickly forgotten with the beauty and emotion each scene unfolded. If your at all a fan of RPGs this is a game you cannot miss. Fans of COD or Halo, be more wary, but if a tale of love and loss is something your want, Nier will be your answer. Fetch and run quests abound. Redundant level design. Small RPG world. All of these are issues I found within the game. I however have always been a person who more about the meat, then the broth when it comes to a stew, and for this meal, Nier's meat is the story/music. I'm one to get swept away with the story and the emotions of the characters, this is a game whose soul is focused upon that idea. That is Nier.
