Nightcaster is a comforting new game with a fresh storyline. Unfortunately, the battle index is aimed for the old water vs fire standpoint we have seen many times before. Some original spells and such do add a good punch but not enough to put Nightcaster over the top as something great. I thought the fact you aged in this game was a good kick, but it happened all too fast and was relatively easy to play through. This game is probably a good rent or borrow from a friend, but not a buy. The lack of some type of multiplayer or co-op play along also dampens the weak points of this game. The little of the new coated with more of the same...but possibly the beginning to something better.
