Nights into dreams is one of the great experiences out there for the underrated SEGA Saturn
Back in 1996 3D platforming wad still shaping, later this year we got Mario 64, the basic well done 3D platformer. But sega was planning something else, a different perspective of this field in gaming.
We got a new controller, with a ball, as a directional pad, i was a little sceptic about it, but when got my hands on it, All i have to say that playing Nights into dreams with its controller is a completely unique experience.
The gameplay is so sweet, i cant find a game that plays this great in today's gaming world, this is a true gem.
The graphics are great, but the environment is really limited, as you walk the world surrounding you pops from nowhere, I guess the Saturn could do much better in this, with acceptable in size viewable environments, as we saw in Shining Force III or Panzer Dragoon Saga.
the length of the game is a little disappointing, is waay too short, there are only like 4 or 5 stages for each character, it feels like more stages could have been good for the overall experience. Even though you can replay the game to get higher scores.
The music is good, i like it a lot, but the songs with lyrics sound a little cheesy at times, but its ok.
Overall, NIGHTS is a great experience, but it has some technical flaws that could have been fixed, the saturn was a really powerful hardware.
