Hack' n 'slash games have never really been my thing, so i was suprised when i found myself hooked on playing Ninja Gaiden. Calling Ninja Gaiden a hack' n 'slash is selling it short. It's all out adrenaline fueled action thrillride, that starts with a bang, and doesn't let up until it's all over. The first thing that is sure to catch your eye is the games lush visuals. Ninja Gaiden looks plain amazing. From the wonderfully animated, and highly detailed character models, to the moody environments, the game looks unrivaled on the xbox. The sound, while not as remarkable as the graphics, keeps up with the games high quality. The weapons and creatures all sound as varied and powerful as they look, and the music builds up the drama, and sets the mood, as the game plays out. The gameplay itself is revolutionary. It's easily the fastest paced game that i've ever played. Each weapon has a huge number of unique moves, and combos, that are suprisingly easy to pull off, due to the games smooth controls. The singleplayer portion of the game will take you anywhere from 20-30 hours to complete, and the Master Ninja Tournament can expand the life of the game a little. The game is very difficult, but if you dedicate yourself to it, it won't be too painful. All in all, this game deserves a place in every xbox gamers game library.
