I’ve been following this game for as long as I can remember, and yesterday, I FINALLY got my hands on Ninja Gaiden, and all I can say is WOW. First off, the graphics. I think this is the main thing that people will notice about this game. The graphics are off the chart unbelievable. The sheer detail in all of the characters will make your job drop, as it did mine. I’ve yet to experience any slowdown with this game, which says a lot when you see the amount of time and detail that went into this game. The game also has some pretty large, rather nice environments to run around in. As far as the sound goes, I don’t have any complaints. I’m playing on a 5.1 surround sound system, and the sound is just great. From the sounds of the weapons to the sounds the characters make, everything is great. You know, when reading the Gamespot review for this game, I noticed a lot of references to the difficulty of this game. Let it be known right here, if you are not listening to the other reviews out there: this game is not easy. It’s not so much the control scheme, as I found the actual control scheme to be rather easy and almost second nature after spending a little time wit this game. The enemies in this game have no problem coming after you and whooping your rear end across the screen, and will do it if you give them the chance. I’ve never had to block as much as I have had to in this game, but I have to say that I’ve enjoyed every battle I’ve had to fight so far. I know I’m not the best video gamer out there, so this game will provide me with a great challenge, but it isn’t so tough that you won’t be able to get through it. As far as my game goes so far, I’m only on Chapter Four, so I’m only so far into the game, so all of my review is based on what I’ve seen so far. And if what I’ve seen is an indicator of what is to come, then I can’t wait to pick the controller back up and continue whooping some ninja booty.
