NGS is better in many ways, yeah i believe it now, but still a gr8 game.

User Rating: 8.5 | Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 PS3
first off, i want to say this was my most anticipated games ever, i am a hardcore NG fan, so this game was on the top of my list since it was announced.
now let's see what went wrong wz the game, the game is excellent indeed in every aspect except the story which i will talk abt soon but when i was told that NGS is better, i couldn't believe it, simply becoz the game gameplay was far better than the oeiginal, the bosses looked better imo, the enemies are much more and very variable, saldy all of that is a mere coat, NGS IS BETTER INDEED, and here is why.
GRAPHICS: the game looks awesome, every thing is very colorful and well made, i liked the new Ryu the most wz the corrugations of his mask, it looks so real and good, everything regrading the graphics is good EXCEPT the enviroment design, while the level design may look good, it doesn't encourage you to search or to look around, you will just find yourself trying to go through the level as fast as possible, some levels are particurarly annoying, like Lv 2 or 3.
in NGS, the graphics were excellent as well, but you will see the difference in the graphics ebgine as soon as you put an eye on the graphics, NGS graphics looks better but they are made of plastic, the environemnts in NGS and the level design can kill NGS2 in a second, the level diesgn encourges you to play and to look around, it's never boring which is the complete the opposite in NGS2.
overall the NGS2 is better oeverall graphically but the level disign is inferiro to that in NGS.
GAMEPLAY: this is where the gameshines, this is where the game got its fame, from its well made, well handled, well designed and very fun gameplay.
the gameplay is very similar to NGS but it's faster a bit and harder a bit.
i can't describe the gameplay, you need to see some videos of it, all i can say is that : the combos are much more in NGS2, they are easy to perform but you need good timing and sometimes good memory, most of them aren't neccessarily useful, but it's gr8 to watch them in action, there is a very good sensation when you perform them.
NOTE: sadly i felt board a alittle wz the gameplay although it's better than NGS, but it's essentially the same, after putting 400 hrs into NGS and playing the demo of NGS2 many times, i felt that the combo list isn't that huge anymore, i can perform them all in a min, everthing is the same..etc.
but that doesn't mean i will quit the game, it's still a blast for any new comer or anyone WHO DIDN'T PLAY THE DEMO.
i must admit there is a lot of varaity in the gameplay (the previous note was something personal).
DIFFICULTY: this should be discussed in the gameplay section but this is very important i will discuss it alone, i played NGS and NGB, i had mastered them both, simply becoz i developed a strategy in every situation, this is not the case in NGS2, the enemies in NGS2 are very choatic and random, you can never know what they are thinking, and they always attack in huge groups (5-6) which may seem low number but in the battle field, it means a massacar, you will be equiped wz a huge arsenal but you will find yourself changing ur weapons alot, trying to find out which is the best for you, i have gone through them all once in a particular battle but i couldn't figure out which is the best coz simply the enemies are too difficult to fight them to develope an effective strategy against them, everytime they will cut ur combos, everytime they will throw you ( they like to grab and throw you a lot in this game) , Do you remeber the black ninjas in NGS?? well imagine NGS2 will millions of them.
the bosses dun have a strategy either, something that is too important to miss it in a good action game, but unfortuantel it's missing here, in NGS the bosses were random but that was tolerable and they had a recovery time when you can damage them, and eventually you will be able to have a strategy, but in NGS2 the bosses aren't tolerable at all especially on higher difficulties ........BUT if you are experienced enough you can spam some moves for ur advantage.
overall the game is hard, it's enough to say that one throw can kill you in MSM, i do remember ppl saying NG2 is still even harder than NGS2, well the only thing i can say is : Have fun wz it.
STORY: non, zip, 0, not existed..etc ........so you will find urself in many areas wzout any explaination to what brought you here or why you are here, this game could be something if they wanted to but nah, they prefered to master the gameplay which is good but they sacrificed the story in the process, even the ending is rubbish in the same way NGS was, NGS may have a slight edge coz the environment and the events were connected to a great extent, but ultimately both games are bad in this aspect,
PERFORMANCE: the game is still glitchy, the game still has slowdowns, not as slow as NG2 but yet this is not tolerable in a remake, this could be annoying from time to time but this won't bother you as much.
AUDIO: suitable and good.
OVERALL: the game is good and fun, but it's not on the par wz NGS in some aspects, the game is hard, i dun see mydelf beating MNM but i will keep trying............anyway it's a must have for action adventure games fans.
