The cut-scenes and music will help you forget the frustration!

Ninja Gaiden was revolutionary when it came out in 1989.. it featured amazing cut-scenes between missions and some of the best 8-bit music you could hear at that time. These 2 features helped you forget about the frustrating difficulty this game offered. You will die a lot by falling into bottomless pits by colliding mid-air with enemies. At least you get unlimited continue.

The graphics during gameplay are good but somewhat grainy. There's a lot of variety in the locations you'll play it, which is nice. The graphics for the cut-scenes are excellent and doesn't suffer from the graininess.. they all look sharp. You will *want* to finish each missions just to see the next one.

The music is awesome for the NES. Just like the cut-scenes, you will *want* to advance thru the game just to hear the next track.

Ryu controls well but sometimes you'd wish the wall grabbing mechanic would be more responsive. This game is very challenging and will test your patience!

If you have the reflexes of a cat you'll probably finish this game in 2.. maybe 3 hrs. Like most NES games, there's not really an incentive to replay the game again.

So, if you are looking for a challenge and a walk down memory lane, Ninja Gaiden should not disappoint!
