I'm not a , but raising Nintendogs can be quite fun, but some restrictions don't let you have enough freedom.

I'm not a , but I think Nintendogs is a pretty good game. This is one of the first Nintendo games they made. It's not only for your entertainment but it sort of gives you an introduction to what the Nintendo DS can actually do.

First off, let me say this. There is no story mode. Why would you need one? That makes games limiting sometimes. Especially if you are raising a dog. Now what happens is you start off with about a thousand dollars, and you go off and buy a dog, which cost around $400, depending on what they are. After that, you take it home and the first thing you do is let it get comfortable. It's going to be scared. After that, it's time for a name. This is where the mic comes in. You teach it it's name by saying it into the mic. It takes awhile, but during the game, you can just tap the screen and it will come over.

After that, it's time for some training. You have to teach it a trick, Sit. It's the same thing as giving the dog a name, you talk into the mic, and after a while, it's learned it's name.

After all that crap is done, you can finally do whatever you want. Now the game does have currency that is sometimes a little expensive, but earning money is pretty easy. First off, you might want to buy a comb, some food, and some shampoo. WAIT! You need to find out if your dog is a short-hair or a long-hair. Just look around some, you'll find it.

Ok, after all that and you feed and nurish your dog, he may want a walk. You can draw your own path for walks, but at first, you won't be able to walk far. During walks, you may encounter gifts, which your dog will bring to you. You may also encounter trash, which your dog will attempt to eat. Gross! Also during a walk, you can visit a park and/or a discount shop. At parks, there will usually be other dogs and it is a great field for disc contest training. At discount shops, you will encounter everything at a discount, everything! There are also some items at discount shops that you can only get there, not from a store, and some stuff, like the keyboard, are very rare.

Ok, how do you earn cash? Well, you compete in these competetions. Theres a disc one, a track one, and an obediance trial. If you win, you will get money, the amount is determined by what place you landed in and what class you were in. Each dog can only compete in three total per day, which makes the game a little limiting.

Ok, no more spoilers. But the game does have wireless gameplay. No, not Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, but wireless multi-card. What you can do is you and a friend can bring a dog to the park, and you can bring a gift of any kind for the other player. Yes your dogs do interact. It's pretty good, but online play would help.

This is a great game for someone who just got a DS or someone who loves dogs. I'll admit that some dogs are cute, but talking as a reviewer, this is a terrific game for those who love dogs.
