Nostalgia is a game that really combines fantasy and reality in a what if world!

I can remember hearing about this game a year ago when it was announced on Gamespot and I was very curious of it. I watched a video of it and I was impressed about the graphics and the overall presentation. Then I remember Gamespot slapping a 6.0 on it which greatly discouraged me from getting it. Many months later I had forgotten the fact that this game even existed until I saw it used at GameStop! I figured what the heck and bought it and now I can't believe what I've been missing out on! I must review this game to show you what you may have been missing out on if you've never played this game before!

Storyline: This game takes place in a Final Fantasy meets Skies of Arcadia meets Indiana Jones world! A famous adventurer named Edward Brown goes missing after rescuing a beautiful maiden from the clutches of the evil Brotherhood Cabal! Apparently in Edward Brown's attempt to escape on the Maverick a fight broke out and the docking rope was cut and he fell into the unknown. Your quest begins as you take control of Eddie the main character in his search for his father. But first he must become an adventurer by going in the sewers and slaying some rats LMAO! But, yeah basically that's how it all starts.

Gameplay: Nostalgia plays just like a Final Fantasy game. You have a turn-based battle system, you slay monsters to gain experience points and gold, you learn new abilities, you buy weapons and armor, and you have of course your plot twists! The only thing that Nostalgia doesn't have is that Final Fantasy difficulty! Most of the battles in this game I felt over leveled to the point of asking the enemy to please kill me now! I found the battles airborne with the Maverick to be more of a challenge! Boss fights can be somewhat disappointing also. You might as well just unequip all your equipment and let the boss win. There are side quests to do at the Adventurers Association but they involve you back tracking and they further contribute to you being over leveled.

Graphics: This is where Nostalgia strengths are! This game has some of the best graphics I've seen for a DS game! The opening presentation blew me away immediately with the soundtrack! Nostalgia really grabs your attention right from the start! Nostalgia also has the best 3D character models I've seen since Final Fantasy IV DS! There all full of personality and the cast of characters are just incredible to look at! The only thing that Nostalgia is missing is voice acting! Voice overs for the characters would have been perfect for this game and especially perfect for this game's awesome beginning! The over world is also very detailed and based off the actual world map this planet has which adds even more creativity to the game!

Value: I'm 10 - 20 hours in with this game and I can already tell you I like what I see! As far as replay value goes I'm not sure about that yet as I've not finished the game yet! But I'm sure that I'll be playing it again because this is the kind of RPG that I look for on DS! (Please let there be New Game+ Mode!)

Overall: Nostalgia is without a doubt another underrated game reviewed by Gamespot! This game has all the things I like about an rpg game! It has 2 minor flaws with one being on the easy side but it's still a game not to pass up on the DS! If you're looking for a game that plays like Final Fantasy and Skies Of Arcadia put together, Nostalgia is a game that really combines fantasy and reality in a what if world!
