O.K. So it's not a ground breaking game, doesn't look all that spectacular and at times can be somewhat predictable. But I still think this game is pretty cool. I personally love survivor horror games. I can remember always buying or renting the latest Resident Evi's and Silent Hill's with my buddies and we'd try to beat it over a weekend or two. There was something missing from those games though... A co-op mode!!! (OK there was Resident Evil Outbreak, but that was expensive and I found it so-so, but that's another review.) That's what Obscure brings to the table. Essentially in terms of gameplay Obscure copies a lot of key gameplay components from Resident Evil and Silent Hill, but that's not really a bad thing, just a little unoriginal. But who cares!? There's this sweet co-op mode where you and a friend can go beat up shoot up the baddies! The story takes place in a highschool, somwhat appealing and typical, with strange things happening after school hours. A group of teens decides to venture out and find a missing friend. So basically you go out on this horror expidition, which can be quite entertaining at times. I don't know about you, but I like to smash stuff in videogames and the creators of this game allow you to do fun stuff like break the windows in rooms. So who cares if the environments aren't pre-rendered to look pretty? I get to smash windows!!! All in all if you're a survivor horror fan at least give this game a rent, heck it's already cheap brand new why not just buy it? I know I did :)
