I didn't know what sort of game this was, just rented it to see what it was like. I thought it was a turn-based rpg! Boy was I wrong!

Yes, there is slowdown in parts of the game. So what. Any 2d game is bound to have slowdown with this level of detail. I hardly think it detracts from the fun of the gameplay, which is very fun.

The story is interesting, the graphic style is unbelievable, the gameplay is fun and engaging though a bit difficult at times, another excellent soundtrack by Hitoshi Sakimoto, fairly good voice acting overall, great characters... this is an excellent game that is worth your time, which is more than I can say for most games on this system.

I have tried many PS2 games over the years. This is one of the few I would really want to keep. If you are into action-rpgs at all, this is what you want.
