The game is very memorable and has a lot of character and charm, but overall it was too easy for me, combat related.

User Rating: 9.5 | Okami (French) PS2
Okami is an amazing game. It is undoubtedly the best looking game on the PS2, and is one of the most intriguing, as well. It starts off as you see a man shrouded in shadows enter a cave. Inside, he runs up to a glorified looking sword embedded in a mound, and then he pulls it out. The cave instantly begins to fall apart, and the man escapes after he sees the silhouette of a horrifying creature, which begins rampaging across the land. Soon thereafter, a wood sprite by the name of Sakuya sends a prayer directly to the stone statue of a wolf in a fighting stance. A few moments later when her prayer is finished, the statue crumbles to reveal a divine, radiating, real wolf. You play as this wolf, who is really the Sun God, Okami Amaterasu; though most people just call you by the name of Ammy. Apparently, the awakened beast is actually a seven-headed serpent demon that was defeated in that very cave fifty years before by your younger self and a brave warrior from the village of Kokariki, which Sakuya has summoned you from. After a few minutes later of listening to the wood sprite asking for your help, a tiny person pops out from a very unexpected place and declares himself by the name of Issun, who came from a town of extremely tiny, 1-inch sized people known as Poncles. This is your partner for the rest of the game. Don't freak out though, the combat and puzzles of the game are easy, and he mainly serves as comic relief. He has quite a bit to do with the story, as well. I won't reveal any further, but that isn't anything compared to the game's thirty hour long experience, which to me, felt like less than ten. The bosses are memorable, however abnormally easy, and one particular dungeon will totally creep you out. I mean, anything horror-related that is Japanese is usually just a little bit disturbing. But I can't stop there, as soon as you think you're done with the game, think again, it is only half over. Once Orochi has been defeated with...well, that would just ruin the fight, anyways, when you defeat him, you learn of something even more sinister and twisted. Altogether, I can say Okami is almost by far the best game I have played on the PS2. What am I saying? It was one of the best games I have played ever!
