An overlooked classic.

User Rating: 9.5 | Okami (French) PS2
I played through Okami again recently for the third or fourth time.

It's a shame that more people haven't experienced this game. It's epic. It's quirky. It's beautiful. The first time I played it, I wished more games could be so inspiring. It definitely falls into the category of Zelda, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, FF.

The fluidity and humour really shine and it's a benchmark in terms of artistry within the gaming genre. If more games were created with the love and detail that was put into this game, we wouldn't hear (idiotic) opinions like Roger Ebert claiming that games will never be art. This game personifies all of the qualities of incredible art.

If you haven't played it, you're absolutely missing out. It's immersive and is one of the few games I would call a masterpiece. The novelty of being one of a small percentage of gamers to have experienced this game has worn off. I hope more people play it and enjoy it. It certainly deserves a healthy legacy.
