Okami: 8 out of 10.
Sound: The whimsical background music of this game is nothing memorialable but it doesn't actually hurt the game. The speak sound effect however, is worse then then the voice effect in Zelda: Ocarina of Time. 1 out of 2 for Sound.
Gameplay: Okami uses a very unique paintbrush system to let the main character, a goddess in the form of a wolf, to change the world around her in her many godly ways. She can change night to day and vice versa, she can cut things, make plants grow, manipulate water, etc. However, the combat system may be a bit to easy for anyone over the age of 10 and may become repetitive after a while. Beyond that the game boils down to an run of the mill action/adventure game: kick, jump and bite your way to the end. 1 out 2 for Gameplay.
Storyline: Okami places you in the role of a goddess that has been reincarnatied as a white wolf, however, because of her long slumber after her previous battle with evil incarnate she has lost most of her godly powers. It's your job to regain your lost powers and save the world from the forces of evil once more. Pretty basic action/adventure storyline, however, props for the uniqueness of the game. 2 out of 2 for storyline.
Misc.: Like all good action/adventure games Okami is packed full of side quests and minigames. Collect 100 beads hidden throughout the game, regrow all the cursed plants, see all the animals, fishing, racing, taxi quests, and more. And when you beat the game start over keep almost all your stuff for a second round. 2 out of 2 for Misc.
Overall: Okami makes for a fun game. Although if you look to hard you find just an average action/adventure but you'll still find yourself enjoying the game. It's hard to find such a unique game especially as it seems more and more of the same old stuff is hitting the shelfs these days. 8 out 10 Overall.
Oh another great thing about this game is the price tag. It hit the shelves for $40 brand new. I just had to mention that and congradulate them for realizing "hey, our target audience can afford $60!"
