Excellent game, but way too easy.

User Rating: 8.3 | Okami (French) PS2
Okami is an excellent game. Flat out. The controls feel tight, the atmosphere is amazing, and the sound for the most part is incredible. So where does Okami fall short? It's too easy! The game didn't feel all that challenging at all aside from some tiny parts. I feel Okami really suffers the most by not providing the player with enough challenges. For the most part Okami feels pretty basic and it seems that the gameplay was geared for a younger audience. With that being said, it's not a boring game. I still had a lot of fun going through and exploring this game.

Okami also loses some points for sound only because I can't stand the non-sense the characters talk in the game. The music is amazing and definitely fits the feel of the game, but the way the characters speak in the game gets on my nerves. I'm sure by now you probably have heard how stunning the visuals are in this game, and I believe Okami definitely lives up to that hype. It's a straight up beautiful game. Everything has a painting/Japanese woodblock feel to it which is a nice touch.

I definitely recommend playing this game. It's a fun experience and I hope that developers make more creative games like these more often rather than the endless stream of WWII shooters.
