One of my favorite puzzle games ever...
One Piece Mansion places you as Polpo, an owner of a very respected apartment. When his sister is kidnapped by a rival apartment, he must fight to save her by.....making good apartments...?
Okay, the story might not be winnig any Oscars, but it's cute enough to make you grow to love the characters.
As you run around your apartment in a 2D view, you add rooms and tenants, who all have levels of happiness and stress that they release to nearby rooms. You must find ways to keep stress levels low for tenants, but keep them high for nearby enemies to kick them out of your apartment.
The graphics are mainly 2D sprites, but it's the PS1, what did you expect. Even so, the cute graphics add wonderfully to the games quirkiness. The catchy tunes are also fun and fitting to this game.
My one complaint is that the story mode is very short. It can be finished in about one to two hours. But there is an endless mode to keep your attention afterwards. The shortness of the game might lead some people to only consider it a rental. But adding to that, the game is pretty rare, and I wouldn't expect to find it anywhere but online stores...
Overall, One Piece Mansion is a cute, fun puzzler that's easy to pick up and play. I recommend it to all fans of puzzle games and anyone looking for a change from the usual violent games.
