User Rating: 9 | Onimusha 2 PS2
Onimusha 2 you star as Yubei Yagyu of the Yagyu clan, who returns from a long journey after receiving word his village is being attacked. He arrives just in time to find the village destroyed. Yubei then sets out against the one responsible. His goal Revenge.

Gameplay:

If you ever played Onimusha Warlords, then bassicly you wont have much problems with this game. Its the same principle from the first part. You kill Demons and Devils and afterwards absorb their souls which come in the colors Red, Blue, Green, Purplelish.
Blue regenerates your Magic
Green Regenerate life, Red allows you to upgrade weapons and armor
and the purple souls alow you to engage in one of the newer features of the game, you can actually turn into the Onimusha, a overpowered form against which most enemies dont stand a chance. You need 5 such souls to activate the mode.
Another change in gameplay is that you can upgrade your armor as well as your weapons which all in all is a nice addition.
Another addition to this game is other playable characters at certain points, based on your choices in the game itself. These mostly do a mission for you which will gain you an advantage at some point or another. You can now also trade with certain characters, either netting you some upgrades or other useful items which may be a big help.

Graphics:

The Graphics are a step up from the previous instalments. The lag between moving to other screens has been dramaticly reduced. Combat itself just flows very well. The Movie Sequences have also been improved looking even more realistic than the previous instalments. Still, the resident evil style screen transition can be annoying at times, though every thing still looks well.

Sound:

The sound is very well done, monster sounds, as well as a great musical score, as well as good weapon and effect sounds all serve to draw you into a feeling of ancient japan. All in all very well done.

Value:

Well, the game is very large if you bother to go through all the different options of the game, and there is also a special features section to unlock.
All in all the games great feel keeps you wanting for more and the story is just to die for.

To any who havent played this game, make sure you get the other parts, for the price of today, the game is very well worth the few bucks it sells for today.
