Onimusha 3 Demon Siege: A truly Cinematic Experience.

User Rating: 9.4 | Onimusha 3 PS2
Onimusha 3 continues the story of Samanosuke Akechi as he valiently fights agains the Genma (demon) forces of Nobonaga Oda. Though this time he is not alone, he is aided by a Cop from the future named Jaques who is based on none other than Jean Reno.

Gameplay:

You play as either Samanosuke Akeichi who through a fluke in time is transported into the Future and must find a way to stop the demons from completly destroying Paris while Jaques is transported into the japan of yore. The game plays very much like other onimusha parts though unlike the previous installments you constantly change time periods to solve riddles that can only be done with help from the future or the past while slaying demons by the score. You still absorb the souls of defeated enemies to power up your weapons and armor (which come in new forms once again) ranging from twin swords of slight, to a huge morning star full with ice magic. Combat is still the same

Graphics:

The Graphics are well done, though some parts of the game suffer from extreme slowdown, while this can be frustrating i only noticed it hapening twice in the game. Other than that, the video sequences are done extremly well. Sound:

This is one of the pieces which make the game a cinematic experience, the musical score is extrodenary and features music to fit both time lines and areas. A very well done job. The sounds are also done very well and never annoy you if you play more extensively. The Voice acting is also a highlight of the game which just serves to draw you in more and more.

Value: Overall, i just have to say, Onimusha 3 is a game you will just keep coming back to, The game is fun, plain and simple. Going through two different story lines trying to uncover what is truly at work is just plain fun. The Combat is fun, The Upgrade system for weapons and armor are as allways uncomplicated. There are also unlockables such as the weapons from Onimusha 1, or an additional gameplay mode, and added difficulty. All in all. this game is well worth it and should not be missing in a gamers collection.
