Onimusha only by name.....

I was really looking forward to playing this game, having played all the past Onimusha's i was hoping for more of the same. First of this is only Onimusha by the way of its name, yes it plays simaler but it really feels so far removed from the first 3 games (its more like a antie twice removed). The thing your notice is some of the controls have been changed, and i'm not just on about the camera. The O button is now used for checking items, but then you have to use X to carry on looking at them....very odd ! This is even down to the save screen, your often find yourself pressing O twice and exiting what you wanted to do. Will say the free camera is a nice adition but it really would have been nice to invert it horizontaly ! In fact there isnt any options to change any of the controls.

The actual fighting in the game is done quite well, though you dont really feel your special attacks are that strong as in the first 3 games. As far as the sound goes think of it in the same way Prince of Persa 2 was (more rock !) this goes a long way into the feeling of it not being apart of the Onimusha family. The voice acting is ok at best, but the lips never seem to move in time.

Graphics, on the other hand are really good, can't really folt them in anyway. Apart form the lips thing which i've already said about. Though they do make you feel like your in some big corridor. The whole feel of the game is VERY Japeness.

Infact i'd say it wasn't the same team whole put the first 3 games together, they do try hard in making this a very playable game & go along way in doing that. Its a good game but its not in the same league as the first 3 Onimusha's
