I have been waiting for this game for a very long time now. Honestly, I did not think that the Onimusha franchise would still be in existence. Obviously, I was wrong. After beating Onimusha 3: Demon Siege and by watching the end cut scene I knew that Tokichiro **** or Hideyoshi Toyotomi after the name change in Onimusha 4: Dawn of Dreams, would come back since he got away in Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny. This game surpasses the previous 3 titles easily in graphics, gameplay, length, and replay value. There are 5 characters to play as: Some are even related to the main characters in the past Onimusha games. There is a LOT, I repeat, a LOT, of character customization in Dawn of Dreams. Your character actually gains levels like an RPG and can use MULTIPLE weapons like an RPG as well. In the older Onimusha's, Jubei, Samanosuke, and Jacques can have up to 4-8 weapons. I will not post that weapons of Dawn of Dreams since there are a LOT of them. But this is weapons list from the past main characters from the older Onimusha titles; from 1-3.
Onimusha: Warlords - Raizan, Shippuu, Enryuu, Bow, Matchlock, Bishamon Sword (only if you get the Bishamon Flute from the Dark Realm)
Onimusha 3: Demon Siege Samanosuke - Bow, Tenso, Kuga, Chigo, Bishamon Sword (Dark Realm #3), Raizan, Shippuu, Enryuu (available after finishing the game), Genma Samonji (Final Battle) Jacques - Oni Whip, Ultimate Whip, Enja, Raisen, Hyosai
As you can tell, there are quite a bit of weapons in the past titles. The action is better than before as well. You can switch characters by the press of a button and have that character fight along side you. The criticals are better and they can be upgraded! Also, team criticals are also in the game as well! I haven't had the time to play it a lot since I played it for an hour. I'm in college and schoolwork consumes my life as always. But, I would go and get this game. It's worth the 40 bucks and you will not be disappointed at all!!!
