i have only just finished this game in normal, and i loved it. start to end the story was good, and beats some RPGs if played the story dose hint onto the previous oni games but playing the previous is not a must! i love the fact that unlike the previous onimusha games, that this game took me 20 summit hours to finish, and that was just running through not collecting everything not trying to unlock any features, this onimusha has a few new things like it has summit called a test of valor, which you have a time limit to kill everything or absorb a set amount of souls ect, you also level up and get to spend skill points developing your character, i just hope that will be a onimusha 5
and now for the one thing i did not like the "dark realm" in previous versions this is were you would get the characters ultimate weapon, as you do in this version but their are 100 levels and its so boring, theirs no check points or saves you have to do it in one go im playing the game for a 2nd time and iv done it with soki the main character it took 4hrs but iv heard some people taking 6hrs and longer , plus you have to do it 5 times once for each characters ultimate weapon but other that that this game should be in all ps2 owners collection
