You can have two people play this game, each enjoying two completely different types of games, and both of them walk away liking the game equally. Person A might be the kind of gamer that likes dynasty warriors ,beat-em ups, and other high octain fighting games, or should we say the gamer with a need for action. And person B might like games that have more of an in depth experience to them, with leveling up, and deep character customization, lets say the role-player. But both of them will enjoy Dawn of Dreams. Why? It's because of the options that you have at your disposal. If you want you can take the time to gain new combos, learn the art of the critical attack, and explore the deep item cache. Or you can hit the square button until the paint wears off and watch the chaos that ensues.
Now granted, it would be a little harder doing the latter, with the many tough boss battles, you can still suceed that way. ( You will have to level up and distribute EXP points in order to survive )but its in a very simple and constructed way )
The graphics are great, not the greatest, but great none the less. They portray a feeling of wonder, it makes you really feel as if your in a mystical quarrel over power and democracy.
The puzzles do can get pretty un-original at times, ( how many times have I had to have my partner stand on a switch so I can go through a door ). And your partners A.I. can sometimes be mind numbingly stupid ( If there is a giant tidal wave of lazers coming at you.....maybe you know....you should MOVE! ) so you will find yourself either babysitting them through a level, or just completely ignoring them and leaving them to die.
But for the most part Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is a fun, and entertaining game that is definatly worth at least a rental.
