The first action game to hit the PS2 console

Okay so the headline is a little bit off, but Onimusha Warlords was a great game none the less. You take the role of a hero named Samanoske Akechi who is an actual real feudal japan warrior. You begin the game in a village thats over runned by demons. It seems that you have a job to do, so the first encounter you have is with this giant monster who slams you into the ground. Finally you are waken by a soul god who grants you a gauntlet and power within that gauntlet to destroy all demons that cross your path.

But what you need to know about this action title other than its story and huge cast of demons you must fight. Would be the battle system, which is somewhat balanced. You attack with one single button, you can also perform one hit kills known as "Critical attacks". Tap the attack button at the right time and you'll perform a slash attack that kills most enemies with one hit.

You play as a second character later on in the game, which is where you begin to solve certain puzzles. Onimusha doesn't seem to be a difficult game to get into, the level designs are great while the voice acting is a little bit rubbish in most parts.

As far as unlockables go, you can unlock a new set of armor as well as the Onimusha 2 trailer. It doesn't too much add anything into the game, but Onimusha Warlords is a nice start for those who favor good action titles.
