Onimusha: Warlords is an very satisfying experience that feels more like a long movie than a short game.
The story is very intense and concise. It is very interesting and makes it so you just don't want to stop, and indeed you could play this game all the way through without stopping. My brother finished it four hours and I finished in five hours. Granted some people just don't want to sit down and play for four to five hours consecutively, but it is possible and that's the point I'm trying to get across.
The game-play is very satisfying with swordplay, magic, and an RPG element in the way of improving weapons. It is truly a superb game, though there are some aggravating parts to this game such as one of the puzzles involving sliding panels which can be quite difficult, a 20 level fighting "contest" of sorts even though this is one of the few optional parts of the game.
The sound is very nice, especially the extremely satisfying sound of the sword striking flesh. The voice acting is very well done, granted it does not sync up with the mouths of the characters, but that is not the fault of the voice actors.
The graphical achievement of this game is nice enough, however it does have some problems such as the mouths not syncing up with the voices and a short pause that sometimes occurs during an angle change.
Overall a very nice game although some will be annoyed by the control scheme such as the extensive use of the directional pad in order to move around. There are no big loading times so this is definitely a good game, all things considered. If you're a fan of action and don't get too easily frustrated with puzzles than give this game a shot.
