OFDR definitely has the feel of the original classic and I am sure that it will rise to classic status too. However, I was highly disappointed by the dreary color palette. It looks nothing like real life, unless the weather is heavily overcast and the atmosphere is saturated. This has greatly spoiled the level of immersion for me as the game often doesn't feel real at all because the landscapes look alien. Other than that, it's a blisteringly great game and although I haven't played for long, it certainly feels like it's going to drain a lot of my time. I just hope they fix the really crappy palette.
This is not a game for those who think they can run around like Rambo. You need to think tactically and protect your team by using your most powerful weapon ... your mind. Sure, there are times when covering fire are ideal to suppress an enemy, but this game is all about strategy with a perfect balance of action that brings your nose right up to the enemy.
