Oh, God, it's just...horrible.

In the arcades Operation Wolf was an amazing game and the twin uzis used to play it made you feel like an real army guy. It was extremely hard and I never had the funds to continue all the way to the end.

Of course all home console versions of this classic were poor in comparison but even the not very good C64 port is still better than this hideous Nintendo Wii version. Why, oh why, the people in charge of the Virtual Console agreed to release the ultra-crap NES version is beyond me. Even if they kept the light gun feature it would have been a tolerable game but you play using the directional pad to aim the reticle.

What the hell?

The graphics are appalling, plain and simple. It's a truly joyless experience using your dot to remove pixels that look like people and blobs that look like tanks from the screen. The sound effects are laughable and the music, once great, is eff you see kay ee deed.

A waste of time and money. The arcade version with light gun capability would have worked on the Virtual Console but instead we get the worst version possible.
