Only reason for the passing grade is the random traffic generator.

User Rating: 5.8 | Option Tuning Car Battle (PlayStation the Best) PS
Graphics: 6/10
The graphics aren't choppy, and instead, is actually quite smooth. However, this comes at a price on the limited PS platform, since the cars become bulky (with the whole package of bulges and bumps at inappropriate places) and rigid when the view shifts. By rigid, I mean that the cars don't look sleek and moving while racing, but instead, look like a 2-D still picture of the scene. Compared to other racing games on PS, namely the Gran Turismo series, the graphics fall far short.
Sound: 5/10
There're almost no good things about the sound other than the muffler burst while shifting gears. The skidding noise sounds wholly unrealistic, and the engine rev is largely monotonous.
Gameplay: 7/10
Sort of mixed reactions here. The pro is, as mentioned above, the random traffic, which adds some replay factor into the game, since each race is minutely different. But the cons are numerous in that the driving experience is a wrong mixture between realism and arcade driving. The speed is like those in the arcades, where cars could accelerate from a standing stop to 60 in 2 seconds flat, but the turns are another matter. When have you heard of a car skidding 50 meters around a corner and stay straight line the whole time? Also, during the skid, the car seems to go in slow motion, so it's another problem for the arcade driver. All in all, the gameplay is unique, but tries to incorporate too many elements into a single game engine.
