This is a fantastic game. I have to admit that I bought it becuase I'm a sucker for beautiful graphics, but this game is so much more than that. The gameplay is easy to get into, but has a surprising amount of depth that you can get into if you're interested, but you don't really have to find out all of the different moves, etc. if you're not intereted since a few basic ones are enought to finish the game. But if you do take the time to plumb the depths of the moves available and the strategy of the various melee/magic combos, the game is a lot more fun (and much easier to finish). One of the things I really like about Otogi is the music. I read in the review that it is traditional Japanese music, but although it may be based on that, it really sounds unlike almost anything I've heard before. It is kind of a mix of Japanese traditional music and some kind of avant garde classical music, but the thing is that almost all of the tunes have a a great hook that will keep going through your head long after you've finished playing. The game has a good bit of strategy to it too. There are a lot of different weapons available with varying strenghts and weaknesses and you picking the right weapon for each level, or deciding when not to use your weapon and rely on your magic instead can make the levels play out very differently. I found it very addictive to try to collect all of the different weapons, spells, and acessories, all of which have effects on gameplay that are clearly distinguishable and useful in specific situations. I would highly reccomend this game to anyone who's into swordfighting games like Devil May Cry or (especially) the Onimusha series or just anyone who likes action games in general. The depth of gameplay along with the strategy and replayability inherent in the game's light RPG-like leveling up and weapon/magic/accessory systems would be enough alone to make it a great game, but the fantastic graphics and even better music makes it a really incredible experience. -Andrew
