User Rating: 7.7 | Outlaw Volleyball XBOX
Let's be honest, this is a game for eye candy and outrageous humor. That being said, it delivers what it promises. It's not a super sports sim and it's not realistic in any sense, but hey, it's a game! Outlaw Volleyball has some outrageous characters. Some annoying, some fun and some downright crazy. The models and personalities are all pretty well done, although exaggerated. The gameplay is challenging and fun to learn. Unlike Beach Spikers for the GameCube, you have to do a little more than hit one button in order to master this game. There are tutorials and challenges to help you build your characters. This all makes the game interesting and gives it a little longevity. The courts are interesting, espcially since some of them take place in snow, on a rooftop or even in a sewer in ankle-deep water. This keeps things fresh so you don't get bored. The sound is the weakest part of the game, especially when it comes to the commentator. He's pretty annoying, I actually had to turn him off after a while. The game sounds are ok, but nothing spectacular. Overall, it's a fun game, even more fun in multiplayer (although I haven't played online). If you ever have friends over to play, it's worth holding onto. Otherwise, rent it for a nice distraction.
