Immersive for an X-box Live game
I must say, that for an x-box live game, it's surprisingly immersive and fun. The difficulty is pretty easy once you get the hang of it, but that shouldn't let you stop from trying it out.
There are two main campaigns, and two more available for download on Live. There are some other free single mission scenarios that ramp up the difficulty, by having your station come under attack by ridiculous forces and ships.
There are various alien types that will visit your station, demanding certain services, such as techonology, nature, business, intelligence, and the like. You must balance your station's power needs with profit, it's finances with defense, the "likeability" of your station, upkeep and maintenance, and more. It can get hectic at times, but is always controllable. There is an anytime save feature, which should be a standard in all modern games, and a time-control feature that allows you to speed time if you're waiting or saving money for a needed attachment.
The story is juvenile, the dialogue is embarrasing, and some of the sounds (the seargent) are mind-numbingly irritating. Somehow this is all forgivable and results in a just-plain-fun surprisingly deep x-box live arcade game.
It's not Doom, it's not Street Fighter or Uno, you can't play against friends, and it's over fairly quick ( a few hours). Still, give it a try.
