Overlord returns bigger (literally) and badder with better minions and an all around better game.
Overlord 2's gameplay has, as i've already said, followed from the original and has even improved. You still have the four Minion tribes: Browns, Reds, Greens, and Blues and still sweep them around developing tactics around their strengths and weaknesses. But now your minions can do things like donning disguises to get them past otherwise inaccessible areas, hopping onto a mount to make them more powerful or go places even they normally couldn't, and they now operate siege weapons like catapults and ballistas. The camera is still a bit of a problem in the game and while you can now move the camera with the right analog stick that same stick is stuck sweeping minions around as well. The targeting system is also a bit awkward and clunky making hard boss fights even more difficult and frustrating.
Overlord 2 is a hard game, whether it's navigating the map, solving a puzzle, or overcoming a boss or certain formidable enemies but in my book a hard game is a good game because it makes you a better gamer in the end.
Despite certain shortcomings, Overlord 2 is a welcomed sequel with better gameplay, graphics and an even longer campaign. Multiplayer and co-op both on and offline sweeten the deal even further and the addition of trophies gives your Evil exploits a sense of rewarding when you are successful.
To sum it all up, Overlord 2 is a fun, addictive, challenging game that allows players to "Destroy or Dominate" as the Evil Overlord and is definitely worth renting if not buying it altogether
