User Rating: 8.5 | Pac-Man vs. GC
Pac-Man Vs. is a free game that Nintendo and Namco worked on together. It's essentially a connectivity demo, but it does a really good job at finding a fun way to utilize connectivity between the GameCube and Gameboy Advance. The game can only be played with 2-4 players so don’t expect to play this one by your lonesome.

The concept of this game is quite simple. One player controls Pac-Man on the Gameboy Advance while 1-3 other players control the ghosts on the TV screen. The characters controlling the ghosts can only see a portion of the board on the TV while Pac-Man can see the entire board on the Gameboy Advance. Why does Pac-Man get such an advantage? Because he is outnumbered three-to-one. The game has a total of six different boards to play on including the original Pac-Man layout. The goal of the game is to be the first person to get to a predetermined score. Pac-Man can gather points by eating pellets, fruit, or eating other ghosts while under the influence of a power pellet. When a ghost catches Pac-Man, that player now gets a turn at being Pac-Man and gets his shot to gather as many points as he can. As soon as that score is reached, the game is over and a winner is declared.

This game has a limited amount of options, the basic concept is pretty simple, the graphics and sound won’t blow you away, but Pac Man Vs. still manages to be a lot of fun and brings about some great competition between you and your friends. You may think I’m being a little generous with this game’s score, but it’s hard for me to overlook the fact that I paid nothing for this game and had a wonderful time. It comes packaged with most of Namco’s great games including Pac-Man World 2 and I-Ninja. Some stores are even handing the game out by itself as a freebie. If you enjoy multiplayer GameCube games then take a break from Mario Party and give Pac-Man Vs. a try. It just might win you over…
