A Fun Little Platformer.
The game is not groundbreaking, but is the best platformer available for the system to date. The graphics are great, but can almost inspire motion sickness if the game is played too fast. The music, sound, and voice acting are all excellent.
The controls are solid throughout the platfroming aspects of the game. However, players can unlock a "maze" on every level that looks and plays like a level from the original Pac-Man. The display is too small on these levels and controlling Pac-Man is very difficult. These levels are a nice touch, but are not really suited to the PSP.
One of the things I love about the game is that it lets players select a difficulty level. For some reason, many platformers shy away from adjustable difficulties. I've got to give credit to Namco for accepting that not all platform fans have the catlike reflexes it takes to complete many of the games in this genre.
While the game has no groundbreaking features, it covers all the classic aspects of box breaking, jumping, and punching as well as any platformer. Basically, this game does everything pretty well.
All in all, this is a good game, and I highly recommend it to all platformer fans who own a PSP. Possibly worth a rental first, but definately a quality title.
