A Good Port ruined by stiff controls

User Rating: 8.5 | Pac-Man X360
"I've Got Pac-Man Feaver." Who doesn't remember that song from back in the day. Back in 1982, a small yellow circle became the first true Video Game Phenomion, the circle's name: Pac-Man. No sooner had Pac-Man become an icon of the video game industry, when it was decided to port his arcade game to the home consoles, the result was Pac-Man for the Atari 2600, and it is seen as one of the biggest failures in the history of the video game insudsty. Today, the original Pac-Man is back on Xbox LIVE Arcade, allowing a new generation to experence the round one in his original glory.

Over all the LIVE Arcade Port of Pac-Man is very faithful to the original arcade port, so many grew up on. Through out the game you guide Pac-Man through a variety of mazes, gobbling up pellets and Power Pills, which allow you to attack the ghosts that are persuing you through the maze. Graphics wise, the game is a near perfect port of the Arcade verson, with the ghosts and Pac-Man completley identical to their original arcade counterparts.

Dispite it's improvements over the dismal Atari 2600 port, this verson of Pac-Man is not with out it's flaws. The biggest of which are it's controlls, the xbox 360's joysticks are possibly the best way to control Pac-Man in the game, however at times they feel like they're lagging or delayed especally when the player is trying to make a quick turn. Another flaw the game has is it's lack of multiplayer.

Dispite the flaws this verson of Pac-Man has, it's a deffinatlly not the worst verson of the game, a distincition which belongs to the Atari 2600 Verson. Over all the game stays true to what made Pac-Man great, and it will appeal to fans of the original Pac-Man games, as well as fans of classic video and arcade games.
