User Rating: 9.8 | Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door GC
Nintendo is back again with Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the sequel to the suprising hit N64 game Paper Mario. Gameplay: Who ever thought a turn-based RPG could turn out this awesome! From the begging of the game you are immediately put into combat. The combat system is a fairly easy to get used to but it offers great variety and keeps the player wanting more. The paper effects are cool too. You always seem to get them at just the right time and they fit in perfectly with the games graphics. Graphics: What makes Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door stand out is really the graphicsa more then anything. For example: When you walk into a building everything folds away like an oragami or pop-up book. I've also heard people calling the graphics "kiddy." The people saying this should try to play the game and tell me if a 5 year old can play or not. Sound: I can't say I am dissappointed here. If you love original Nintendo music you will love this. While the music sometimes may repeat while in a town, the music quickly changes when you are in danger. The sound effects of all the attacks are great too. Value: In many adventure games most people go through beat it once then never play again. Paper Mario may change that pattern. The hundreds of items, badges, sidequests, and tattle log entries will keep you busy if you are dedicated. Either way just beating it is an engaging experience and is sure to please. Reviewer's Tilt: I gave the game a tilt of 10 because Nintendo really looked deep and fixed everything they could. The game came out beautifully and is overall an extremely memorable and fun experience. I would reccomend this game to any Gamecube owner. 9.8/10 ~Abraham
