Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door is a masterpiece, nothing less. Everything in the game is pretty much perfect; the audio is great with some of the original songs put into it, the controls fit almost flawlessly, the boss battles are exiting and very entertaining, the story is very deep and funny, the environments are cool and very interactive, the items are new are helpful, the party members are awesome and all have a special ability that helps you with the puzzles in the game, the puzzles are challenging but very fresh and usually have a clever solution, the gameplay is very creative, and the graphics are the best part; namely because the "paper" mechanic works flawlessly with the game. Overall, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door is an excellent experience that should not be missed if you own a Nintendo Gamecube or a Wii and have Gamecube controller handy. In my opinion, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door is much better than the other 2 Paper Mario games were. The characters, the battles, the enemies, the map, the environments, the paper mechanics, the story, the crystal stars, the Thousand Year door itself, the controls, and the badges are all elements that make this a great game. Some of the only things that I really fault the game for is the difficulty, you sometimes need to use a power-up that you have found to get from place to place, but if you dont have it, you will have to find it. Sounds pretty easy, doesn't it? It isn't. The puzzles that are presented are very elaborate, which makes it difficult to solve them. Sometimes you may just want to explore the map just to see what you can find. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is, in my opinion, truly worth recommending.
