This paved the way to Mario & Luigi RPG; and for that, this game is super.
Gameplay – Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door takes a whole new take on Mario games, as well as RPG's. The combat system is unique and amazing. I have this game to thank for the creation of Mario & Luigi RPG. It led to a great new combat system for Mario games. It's also a very easy game to get into, and I really like all of the allies as well as the enemies. Oh yeah, and the boss battles rock socks.

Graphics – Nothing extremely spectacular for the GameCube, but they're still quite good nonetheless. Sadly, the cut-scenes are bland.

Length – The game will last up to around 28 hours of gameplay if you aren't speed-running.

Storyline – I'm glad they started to stray from the path of the normal Mario games with this one, and I must say, the story is great. There are lots of great characters you'll meet along the way, all with hilarious personalities.

Sound – I don't think there's a Mario game without a great original sound-track. This one actually went over the average Mario sound-track, in my opinion. It's filled with music from what feels like every type of terrain, be it desert or haunted house. To top that off, the sounds Mario makes are great - Wa-ha!

Controls – It's a very easy game to pick-up, although the combat system may seem a bit complicated if you don't pay attention to the instructions.

Multi-player – I think it might be cool to have Luigi in this as a partner.

OVERALL:
Like I said, I have to thank this game for paving the way to Mario & Luigi RPG 1-3, some of my favourite GBA & DS games of all time. The combat system is great, and although there aren't great cut-scenes like your average RPG, it's still got a great story-line.
