A great game overall that is really fun to play.
Story: 8/10
The story was all in all a very interesting and engaging story. It also had many moments that made you laugh especially at bowser's scenes. You start out getting a letter from Peach saying she found a treasure map and she wants your help looking more the treasure. You sail to the mysterious town of Rougueport to meet Peach but she is missing, thus starts a brand new adventure.
Graphics: 9/10
The graphics in this game are great without nearly any noticeable faults. It captures the paper sense very well in all of the different characters and paper objects. This is especially noticable when Mario turns into a paper airplane or boat. Beautiful and colorful. A nine out of ten.
Sound: 8/10
The sound in this game is overall good. The music is great with little areas of repetitiveness. The sound affects on a whole are pretty good although some in-fact do get repetitive after a while.
Gameplay: 9/10
The meat of a game. It can still be a great game if this category is high and the others are low. In this game, it sticks to pretty much the same mechanics as the last game and this is a good thing since it worked. You move around freely in the overworld and when you get into a battle, you and your opponents take turns attacking, or running, or using items, etc. The way you play through the game is fun and will keep you coming back for more.
Replay: 9/10
There is a whole lot to do after defeating the final boss. Some of this includes the badges, the star pieces to collect, the recipes, the items and just everything else to see or collect. There is also the Pit of 100 Trials and Trouble Center tasks to complete. With all of this, you'll have your hands full for a lot of time. The only thing is, once you beat the game and either collect everything or give up, there is nothing to convince you to go though the game again.
Rent or Buy: Buy. Believe me its worth every penny.
