How is it that Mario has conquered nearly every gaming genre? Sports, Racing, Party, and you will even encounter an FPS if you're a hardcore Mario gamer. Now Mario takes what should belong to FINAL FANTASY. Role Playing games. This will be easier to accept once you play this awesome game. This game easily blends Puzzle, Action, Platforming and Role Playing. It's hard to find a good game that blends so many elements together. Usually, one element is put in the spotlight, while every other element is rushed, resulting in bad gameplay for the majority of the game. Not in Paper Mario. You'll be continually entertained by figuring out which switch to push, avoiding that bzzap! (An enemy in the game that has really high attack) while your HP is critical, jumping across the chasm filled with lava onto a near instantaneous platform, and figuring out what to do when Bowser makes himself invincible. The story is deep and non-linear, with some moments of absolute silliness and others of mystery and wonder. The graphics have aged really well, and are still par today. The music is simply phenomenal, with tunes as good as I imagine Guitar Hero's are. Definitely buy this game even if you don't have a 64 or a Wii, because the $260 or so that buying this game would cost you is small compared to the actual value of the game.
