The storyline in Parasite Eve is definitely unique. I won't even get into it here. Because to be honest, just hearing about it kind of makes it sound boring. But it's not, it's actually addicting. The gameplay is decent, it mixes some RPG elements into an action/adventure game. It does so very succesfully. A lot of this game is overly cliche'd, such as the portrayal of police and asian scientists. But the characters are nevertheless likeable. The fight scenes can be a little annoying. And some times, when you just want to level up, you can't seem to find any enemies. However, the fact that you CAN level up at all is a huge plus, and puts this game above most action/adventure games. If you're at a tough spot, you can go back, find some enemies, and try to level yourself up. You can also get tools and alter your weapons and armor. There is a 'bonus' game after you complete the regular game, supposedly. But when I tried to play it, it just looked like I was playing the regular game but with a better weapon, so I didn't really get that. But I will look for Parasite Eve 2, and I wouldn't mind seeing a new sequel on one of the new generation systems.
