The Killzone for Xbox!

User Rating: 6.8 | Pariah XBOX
Yes it may well be Killzone for the xbox but a little more improved. Pariah has the same idea as Killzone for the way the game was made. For example it has a relatively short and pointless single player campaign, not that bright AI that just shoot in your general direction, a sometimes annoying frame rate (especially in multiplayer), and a limited amount of multiplayer appeal. One thing I thought that was a great idea is at any time during the single player campaign a second player can just press start and your in co-op. This is also great because they copied the halo co-op idea of, if one person dies then you just wait until they respawn again. So you avoid frequent load times. Apart from human assistance there is no NPC back up on your side at anytime which I think is a real downer. Having an average array of satisfying weapons in your hands, they range from shotguns and (very) light machine guns to your standard sci-fi plasma rifles. It is enjoyable upgrading your weapons but only three times isn't powerful enough. YES!......It does use some decent rag doll physics. It especially stands out when you hit them with a rocket, grenade or vehicle it looks quite cool. However the vehicles control so sloppy and the mounted machine gun could have been taken off the car/bike and it wouldn't made a difference. Graphics are a mixed bag of bland landscapes to cool special effects and lighting effects. It has good character models and some neat heat distortion effects. The close up textures look really blurry and the frame rate drops consistently whenever you get up close and personal with a melee, which makes it super hard to hit anything moving, and whenever there are more than about 4 characters on screen at once. The Graphics are roughly above average. Pariah has An quick and easy to use map maker (as it said on the box). The quick part means = You have to set aside some time to waste....(Of Your Life!). The easy part means = Only a few options The map maker part means = Create a very pointless map. So It's just.........there Pariah is an ups and downs First Person Shooter that had a creative scope but failed to deliver. As my Classification says "Rent it first!!!". ; ) Pvt. Alex
