If you enjoy teamwork and communication this is a sleeper that you should not miss
First and Foremost; THIS IS AN ONLINE CO-OP GAME. Now that I put that part out of the way let me tell you why you should get this.
We all seen first person shooters and played them. What differentiates this one from the rest of the pack is the fact that the team needs to work together. The whole looking out for yourself only or players running around like chickens with their heads cut off thing (like we see so much of in modern warfare and other online shooters) is not going to fly in this game.
The difficulty in this game lies in getting your four man team to work together as they should. A good team that is coordinated and has chemistry is a must. MIC's are highly recommended. You will come to rely on your teammates as they will come to rely on you. If you take away one thing from this review take away the fact that no other game I have played relies SO much on co-ordination and co-operation between players. Playing with close friends is a plus but plenty of good players online as well to make up your team.
Their is something mystical about the voices of the players you meet online. As you get everything from American, Australian, British, East European, Russian and all kinds of accents REALLY gives you that international team of criminals feel. I have met everything from the thick accented Russian to the hotheaded American 'gangsta' to the dirty tongued British bloke up to the cool and calm Serbian. You WILL feel like you're in a movie.
When sh*t hits the fan you can easily see people blaming each other and yelling matches and finger pointing just like any real life criminal outfit. When things go good the bonds you will make and sense of comraderie are unsurpassed by any game I played recently. You will easily find yourself and your teammates giving out instructions to each other like 'fallback', 'on me on me', 'lay down some cover fire', 'I need ammo', 'I am down HELP' etc.
Plenty of weapons and perks to choose from and the pleasure you get from the power of the pump action 12 gauge shotgun to the precise and suppressed fire of the MP5 to the all powerful M4 Carbine assault rifles feels just right.
The music for the game is perfect as it keeps up with the tempo of the game from smooth infiltration to all out techno and house blood pumping shootout music.
Also make no mistake. the A.I. you and your team are up against is absolutely no joke. the police will flank you, distract you with smoke bombs and slip in behind you and rappel from the roof tops in ways that will make you never feel completely safe.
Ammo is scarce and must be used wisely. Let me tell you their is nothing that beats the feeling of you and your team completely surrounded with little ammo and no more health bags. Running through the streets and picking up what little ammo you find from downed cops with a SWAT team breathing down your neck.
This game is Intense.
This game is about teamwork.
This game is hard.
This game is a true sleeper among all the great releases this time of year.
I would have easily paid 40 Dollars for this game so at 20 dollars this game is a steal (pardon the pun). I am also anticipating much DLC content in the future.
If you like teamwork and blood pumping action. This game is for you.
